    The background job was stopped. No further work is being generated. The already-queued backlog continues to process and is draining steadily. Response times are improving as it clears.

    We identified the cause as an internal background data job generating a very high volume of processing work, which consumed capacity on the API servers that also serve customer requests. Requests continued to succeed, but noticeably more slowly than usual. A small number of requests timed out and returned errors.
